Iguana DJ - Free, Remote Controllable Audio and Video DJ Software

Iguana DJ is a free, versatile video and audio playlist/DJ application that can be easily extended and controlled remotely. Drawing inspiration from popular audio services like Spotify and Deezer, as well as from commercial digital DJ applications, Iguana DJ offers additional fun bells and whistles to elevate the user experience. As a spiritual successor to Dissident DJ, one of the earliest PC-based DJ applications, Iguana DJ is suitable for a variety of settings, including hospitality venues like bars, restaurants, and hotels, as well as home parties.

• Seamless video and audio playback - Whether you want to just set a playlist and let it run, or schedule songs as you go, the app is designed to let you mix your video and audio content to your heart's content. Display it on your screens or just let it run headless, the choice is up to you and the app includes an open architecture to allow it to draw content from a variety of sources beyond local media files.
• Remote control - You can run the actual DJ app on a laptop, PC or even a mini PC or single board computer such as a Raspberry Pi and then remote control it from other devices on the same network.
• Cross platform compatibility - We've built it in such a way that this little beast should be able to run on a wide variety of platforms. Officially it runs on Linux, Windows, Raspbian and Mac, but it should be reasonably easy to get up and running anywhere else it's dependencies can be installed.

• Customisation - Want to customise things? Maybe watermark the display with your logo? Don't worry, there's an expanding selection of customisation options already available and plenty more on our roadmap.
• Extendable - An open plugin architecture allows for you to bring in additional features or even build some of your own.

• And More - The app is only in it's infancy at the moment, if people find it useful we've got a lot of additional bits planned for the future including collaborative playlists and all sorts of other fun things.

If your platform isn't listed, e.g. Linux, Android or MacOS, contact us as whilst we don't have an official package for these yet, we may be able to send you a build.

Remember, whilst Iguana DJ does a lot of great stuff out of the box, you can also extend it with some fantastic plugins

Is It Really Free?

Iguana DJ is "sponsorware". We understand that everyone has different budgets and needs, and as a software company that works closely with the music and hospitality industries we understand that, particularly with recent events and for those just starting out, not everyone has the money to splash out on a fancy new bit of software. There's no one size fits all approach, and as such and we've decided to make the base version entirely free of charge for anyone to obtain, share and use.

The caveat being that if you find this software useful, particularly if you feel it adds value to your business or would simply like to see it's future development continue, we would like to invite you to consider supporting us using one of the options we will add below when the software is available to the general public.

Alternatively if you are in need of some top tier developers, perhaps you might consider hiring the team behind this application for your next project.
